On the practice drawings the features are drawn where the printed dimensions put them, so the picture and the numbers agree.THE CONVENTIONS THIS WORKBOOK STATESA dimension is read, never scaled off the sheet: the printed number governs. An ordinary untoleranced size takes the applicable general tolerance when the drawing's notes or standard make that general tolerance applicable to it. It does not design a part, choose a tolerance, select a standard fit from a table, or say whether a size suits a service.
