Gallagher Small Electric Fence Reel for Polywire, Turbo Wire, and Tape

The Mini Wire Porta Reel has garnered mixed reviews from customers, primarily highlighting its lightweight and sturdy design, making it a practical choice for temporary fencing solutions. Users appreciate its portability, often utilizing it for tasks such as subdividing paddocks for livestock like sheep. The ability to hang the reels directly from step-in posts or electric fences is a notable advantage, streamlining the fencing process without the need for additional mounting accessories. However, numerous reviews indicate a significant downside with the locking mechanism—specifically, the plastic tab that secures the reel. Many customers reported that this tab tends to become brittle and break after repeated use, necessitating improvised methods to operate the reel. While some found the reel to function effectively despite this flaw, the lack of response from the manufacturer's customer service regarding this issue raised concerns among users, suggesting that there is room for improvement in both product durability and customer support. In summary, while the Mini Wire Porta Reel is appreciated for its ease of use and lightweight design, it is marred by problems with the locking tab, which diminishes its overall value and longevity in the field. **
