Svar: No, I bought these pants hangers to avoid those flimsy plastic hooks. They work very well and stabilize the trouser cuffs. They are a bit more costly than the black plastic hook, but well worth the extra cash to avoid aggravation. -

Svar: My stamped Woodlore hangers have a length similar to no brands, but the latter have a height if only 1 1/8' and the former 1 1/2. Overall the Woodlores are sturdier, as they should be for the difference in price. -

Svar: The hook portion should be bent until you pull it upright to hold the pants in place. There is a slight angle when it's ready to be hung but nothing unusual. -

Svar: You can hang any piece of clothes on these wooden hangers but they will get crimped because they got hung damp/wet. It's quite sturdy and but heavy, it will do the job. -

Svar: I also hang my pants by the cuff end even though my pants don't have cuffs. These are the best. They grip very tight. Discount store hangers are NO GOOD AT ALL. -

Svar: Not sure about staining them walnut but if you sanded them really well it might work. Ask someone at a paint store or home improvement store.
