DVD Editorial Review
**Editorial Review of "Leverage: Season 2"** "Leverage: Season 2" has drawn a variety of responses, largely tethered to the character of Sophie Devereaux, portrayed by Gina Bellman. The season unfolds with Bellman navigating her pregnancy while the creators managed her absence with Jeri Ryan, allowing for continuity without compromising the show’s essence. This transition emphasizes the depth of the main characters, notably Nathan Ford, played by Timothy Hutton, who offers a multi-faceted performance, bringing forth themes of addiction and redemption as he leads his team of misfits. Aldis Hodge's portrayal of Hardison, particularly in the “Ice Man Job” episode, brings a fresh energy to the narrative, showcasing tensions within the ensemble cast that feel both genuine and entertaining. The sibling-like dynamic among the team members is effectively portrayed, never veering into the excessive melodrama that could render it ridiculous. Beth Riesgraf’s Parker continues to captivate viewers with her quirky antics and evolving character, while Hutton’s complex representation of Ford contrasts nicely with the lighthearted moments. Visually, the shift to Portland as the filming location has provided a more cinematic backdrop, enhancing the overall production quality. Viewers appreciate the show’s sophisticated writing, which intertwines humor with dramatic elements, making it stand out among typical cable dramas. The intricate plotlines and character development resonate well with audiences, suggesting that "Leverage: Season 2" not only maintains but elevates the engaging storytelling established in its inaugural season. The finale is highlighted as an emotional and visually spectacular closure to the season, cementing its status as an instant classic. Fans of the show can also look forward to insightful behind-the-scenes commentary that enriches their viewing experience. In conclusion, "Leverage: Season 2" has been received positively, with viewers eager for the return of Bellman's character and an appreciation for the show's ability to blend humor, action, and emotional depth. **
