How does the WSX WH LED Passive Infrared Wall Switch Occupancy Sensor work?

The WSX WH LED Passive Infrared Wall Switch Occupancy Sensor utilizes passive infrared technology to detect motion. It senses changes in infrared levels emitted by people in its vicinity. This ensures automatic lighting control, providing convenience as lights can turn on or off based on occupancy. Ideal for use in hallways or restrooms, it minimizes energy usage by only activating lights when necessary.

Can I install these occupancy sensors myself?

Yes, both the CMR 10 Contractor Select Ceiling Mount and WSX WH LED Wall Switch Occupancy Sensors are designed for easy installation. You can mount the ceiling sensor in a corner or center of a room and the wall switch sensor at an accessible height. With basic tools and some understanding of electrical systems, homeowners can install these sensors to improve energy management in their spaces.

What types of environments are suitable for these occupancy sensors?

The CMR 10 is perfect for large areas like warehouses, while the WSX WH is ideal for smaller rooms such as bathrooms or closets. Their versatility ensures that they can be effectively utilized in task-oriented spaces for efficient energy management.

Do these sensors work with LED lighting?

Absolutely! Both the CMR 10 Contractor Select and WSX WH are compatible with LED lighting systems. They seamlessly integrate with LED technology, providing reliable occupancy detection while maximizing energy savings. Since LED lights are increasingly used for their efficiency, these sensors enhance the overall efficiency of your lighting system.

What features make the CMR 10 Contractor Select a top choice?

The CMR 10 Contractor Select Ceiling Mount Occupancy Sensor stands out due to its extensive detection range and sensitivity settings, allowing customization based on specific room layouts and lighting needs. Its robust design ensures durability in various environments, making it a preferred choice for contractors looking to optimize energy consumption in large spaces while providing a higher level of convenience for users.

Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity of these sensors?

Yes, both sensors feature adjustable sensitivity settings. This is crucial in tailoring the sensors to fit different room sizes and movement patterns. For instance, you might want to increase sensitivity in areas with frequent movement, like offices, while reducing it in quieter settings such as storage rooms. This feature helps prevent unnecessary energy consumption while ensuring adequate lighting coverage.

How does the dual functionality of sensors benefit me?

Using both the CMR 10 Contractor Select and the WSX WH LED Passive Infrared Wall Switch maximizes efficiency. The ceiling sensor can monitor large areas, while the wall switch sensor can be strategically positioned in smaller spaces. This combination allows you to create a comprehensive lighting control strategy, ensuring that all areas are effectively monitored, thus enhancing comfort and energy savings throughout the day.

Sensor Switch Motion-Activated Switches Editorial Review

The Sensor Switch CM 9 Contractor Select Ceiling Mount Occupancy Sensor is a reliable motion sensor worth the investment. The product is easy to install and handles a decent sized load with a great range of motion detection. The sensor has the ability to retain information even if there is a power outage and will turn on the lights when it senses motion. It also works at 277v, 1200w load. The only downside is that there is no photo cell, so the lights turn on even if there is daylight. One review stated that the programming isn't the easiest, but it's not hard either. The CMR PDT 9 is not rated for damp location. The product has received positive reviews overall with one user designing a hood which they feel should be included in the box as it is useful in many instances. **
