How does one apply Pyro-Putty 653 Paste?

Applying Pyro-Putty 653 Paste is straightforward. Start by cleaning the surface to ensure proper adhesion. The paste can be applied using a putty knife or other spreading tool. It's recommended to apply it in layers if you're filling larger gaps. The paste can be smoothed out easily, and once dried, it creates a strong, durable seal. This expands your options for implementing fire safety measures throughout your home or business.

What temperatures can Pyro-Putty 653 Paste withstand?

Pyro-Putty 653 Paste can withstand extreme temperatures up to 2000°F (1093°C). This makes it an excellent choice for environments exposed to intense heat, such as industrial facilities and residential settings with fireplaces. Users in industries requiring high heat resistance frequently rely on this product to create durable seals, thereby enhancing safety and compliance with fire regulations.

Can Pyro-Putty 653 Paste be painted over?

Yes, Pyro-Putty 653 Paste can be painted over once fully cured. How do I store Pyro-Putty 653 Paste?

To preserve Pyro-Putty 653 Paste, store it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure the container is tightly sealed to prevent moisture absorption and drying out. Proper storage will help maintain its consistency and efficacy, ensuring optimal performance when you're ready to use it again. This is crucial for anyone working on intermittent projects requiring reliable fire sealing solutions.

What is the drying time for Pyro-Putty 653 Paste?

The drying time of Pyro-Putty 653 Paste typically ranges from several hours to a full day depending on environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity. Is Pyro-Putty 653 Paste safe for use around food?

Pyro-Putty 653 Paste is not intended for use in direct food contact areas. While it is designed for high-temperature applications, using it in cooking environments could pose health risks if it contaminates food surfaces. Always use it in designated fire prevention applications and consult safety guidelines if you're working in spaces near food preparation areas to ensure compliance with safety standards.

How can I clean up Pyro-Putty 653 Paste after use?

To clean up Pyro-Putty 653 Paste, it’s important to do so before it hardens. Use warm, soapy water and a scrubbing tool for easier removal from tools and surfaces.
