Action & Adventure Editorial Review

** Green Lantern: First Flight Single-Disc Edition** "Green Lantern: First Flight" offers an engaging and action-packed introduction to one of DC Comics' often-overlooked heroes. The film successfully intertwines Hal Jordan's origin story with contemporary DC storylines, notably referencing the "Blackest Night" maxi-series, thereby appealing to both longtime fans and newcomers. Viewers appreciate the voice acting, particularly Chris Meloni as Hal Jordan, whose portrayals alongside Victor Garber's authoritative Sinestro and Kurtwood Smith's menacing Kanjar Ro create a dynamic and captivating ensemble. The animation quality is noted to be exceptional, alongside a solid narrative that keeps viewers engaged throughout its 90-minute runtime. The film is enriched with a plethora of extras that enhance its value, including character profiles, a sneak peek at upcoming releases, and episodes further exploring the Green Lantern universe. However, it does not shy away from a few darker themes, which combined with mild language and violence, warrant a PG-13 rating—potentially not suitable for younger viewers. Overall, "Green Lantern: First Flight" represents a commendable addition to the DC Universe animated collection, and its blend of thrills, character depth, and poignant storytelling makes it a must-watch for fans of superhero narratives. **
