The Silver Kolinsky Round Short 8 brush has received mixed reviews from customers. Some users found it disappointing, stating that it holds a lot of water but does not hold a point well. However, many customers agreed that it is a good affordable alternative to more expensive brands, especially for beginners. They noted that the brush is soft with decent spring and holds a fair amount of water, making it excellent for fine lines and painting fur or foliage. Some customers preferred Silver Brush's other red sable brushes over the kolinsky line, but all three outperformed the Winsor & Newton Series 7. One customer used the brush for a 3-month mural project and found it to be their go-to brush. Another customer compared it to brushes from W&N, Da Vinci, or Escoda, stating that it is an amazing brush with a better than average price. However, one customer found it difficult to get the brush to hold its point and shape, and preferred other brushes they had used in the past.
