This is a Tuf-Tite EF-4 Combo Effluent Filter that is designed to filter solids leaving the septic tank. It comes with an adapter ring for 4" sch40 and 4" sdr35 pipe. This kit includes only the filter and not SD-4 solids deflector. The filter needs to be cleaned every 3 to 5 years, depending on septic health. The device has no lock and stays in place with a friction fit, with the long end fitting into the pipe exiting the gray water and the small end connecting to the leaching field pipe. Access to the yellow filter for cleaning is necessary. It needs a tank cover or lid above the tank output pipe to install this device. The customer feedback for this product is mixed, but overall positive. It is an inexpensive filter that is easy to install and clean.
