Breath Builder

If you're looking to enhance your lung capacity or improve respiratory health, look no further than the Breath Builder. Developed by the late Bassoonist Harold Hansen, this innovative device allows you to feel the sensation of inhaling and exhaling, while also providing an excellent workout for your respiratory muscles. Made of durable plastic, the Breath Builder stands at least six inches tall and contains a ping-pong ball inside.

Its top features three holes drilled into it to vary the resistance. To use it, place the tube between your teeth on top of your tongue and get the ball to the top of the tube by either inhaling or exhaling. Once the ball is at the top of the tube, hold it there while slowly inhaling and exhaling. The Breath Builder requires fourteen ounces of pressure to hold the ping-pong ball at the top of the column, so you'll need to work your respiratory muscles to maintain the correct pressure.

To get the most out of your Breath Builder, visualize a string player bowing from frog to tip while inhaling and exhaling. Keep the motions as long as possible, increasing the length of the bow. Observe your body's motion in the mirror and exaggerate inhalation expansion of the body and exhalation contraction of the body. Lower the resistance by closing more of the holes on the top of the tube to go for length of breath and mentally increase the length of the imaginary string player's bow.

Breath Builder is perfect for advanced breathing exercises for athletes and singers, as well as excellent therapy devices for respiratory health conditions.
