Benchmade Guided Field Sharpener
The Benchmade Guided Field Sharpener is a compact and portable tool designed to sharpen and maintain knives, axes, and other tools. It features a single bar with five different honing surfaces, including two ceramic, two diamond, and one leather. The ceramic honing rod rotates to expose coarse and fine honing surfaces, as well as a grooved surface for sharpening fish hooks. The tool is designed to sharpen knives at a 20-degree angle, which is a lower angle than the 30-35 degree angle that Benchmade knives leave the factory with. However, this is because the factory angle is an inclusive angle, so the sharpening angle on each side of the blade is 15-17.5 degrees. Some customers have noted that the laser-etched Benchmade logo on the coarse diamond stone has removed some of the diamond grit, but this is not a major issue as this side of the bar is rarely used. Overall, the Benchmade Guided Field Sharpener is a well-designed and versatile tool that is highly portable and perfect for maintaining knives and other tools in the field.
