Beginners found it beneficial even with limited understanding, appreciating the extensive content that encourages revisiting the material for deeper comprehension. Intermediate artists highlighted the actionable insights and techniques that can help them refine their craft, making it a valuable resource for those looking to elevate their drawing skills. Commentators noted the enjoyable writing style and the book's engaging nature, as well as its clear presentation of complex concepts essential for creating visually appealing illustrations. Specific aspects of the book, such as tips for ensuring color blending and the overall quality of the artwork, received accolades. Customers also expressed that having a physical copy is preferable—allowing for annotations and easy reference—underscoring the practicality of the book. Importantly, users have found the techniques taught to be applicable and beneficial, likening the book's value to that of a top-tier instructional resource. However, while the book is lauded for its clarity and use of techniques, there have been remarks about the author's limitations in certain areas of drawing, such as figure drawing or perspective.
